Arrival in Mali

Somehow I was lucky enough to get onto the Visiting Arts/British Council organised trip to the Bamako Photography Biennial. So, this is where I am amongst 12 other curators and arts professionals from across the UK. There are loads of events to go to accompanied by loads of sun and peppered with an amazing amount of great music all over the place.

I am here with a number of missions. First of all to see all the amazing work that African  photographers and other artists are producing; then to see this great country. I always wanted to go to West Africa, but it never happened. This is my chance! And then I am tasked to get a hundred or more calabashes for our current resident artist Gemuce back home in Huntly.
